Usually, gas and oxygen are needed for flame cutting, and there are three kinds of gas available for fire: gas, propane and acetylene. The calorific value of gas is the smallest, followed by propane and acetylene is the most calorific value. The greater the calorific value, the faster the cutting, the faster the burning rate, the better the cutting effect.

Flame cutting can only cut metals which are easy to oxidize. The flame with high carbon content is hard to cut. The thickness of the flame cutting is generally more than 6mm of carbon steel, for the plate under 6mm can also be cut, but because the plate is thinner, because the flame cutting way is to use high temperature flame to heat the surface of the steel plate to the ignition point, and filled with high pressure oxygen, so that the combustion of the cutting method of cutting.

Therefore, when cutting the plate, it is easy to produce hot deformation of the sheet metal, and the cutting plate can not achieve good results. The general flame NC cutting machine can be cut to 200mm, and after special transformation, it can cut 350mm.

On cutting speed, NC flame cutting is much faster than manual cutting. But it's a little slower than the plasma cutting. Compare with 20mm thick sheet. Flame cutting speed is about 450mm/min per minute, plasma cutting speed is about 1500mm/min per minute. In the cutting effect, the perpendicularity of the flame cutting is better than the cutting verticality of the plasma. The cutting surface of the flame cutting is vertical and the plasma cutting surface has a certain inclination.
